Our vineyards
located at Ziano Piacentino, respect the principles of organic viticulture as per ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale), and we have been certified as organic (biological) since 2017. This certification ensures that we follow strict practices that focus on sustainability, environmental preservation, and producing wines that express the natural essence of the land.
Organic viticulture is a farming practice that emphasizes the use of natural processes to manage the vineyard ecosystem. We avoid synthetic chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers, focusing instead on sustainable practices that promote biodiversity, soil health, and plant resilience. By using crop rotation, compost, and natural pest control methods, we maintain an ecological balance that benefits both the vineyard and the surrounding environment.
Benefits of Organic Viticulture:
Environmental Sustainability: Organic viticulture reduces the use of chemicals, supporting the long-term health of the land and surrounding ecosystems.
Biodiversity Enhancement: The practices used in organic farming encourage a variety of plant and animal life, helping maintain natural pest control and improving soil fertility.
Soil Health: Organic farming emphasizes soil conservation and health, reducing erosion and increasing the soil’s ability to retain water.
Wine Quality: Organic wines often exhibit a sense of place, with their unique flavors derived from the natural environment in which the grapes are grown, without synthetic interventions.
Healthier Wines: Organic wines are made with fewer chemicals, making them a healthier option for consumers.
